Dateline speaks exclusively to the families of those who were kidnapped and held for huge ransoms in Sri Lanka's capital.Nick Lazaredes and Yalda Hakim investigate the terror that’s rocking the Tamil community in Australia. Since 2005, there have been almost 20 cases of Tamils, either Australian citizens or relatives back in Sri Lanka, being kidnapped and held for huge ransoms. Some Tamils in Australia have pleaded with the Howard government for help, only to be disappointed by a lack of action.

While most are too afraid to come forward publicly, Dateline speaks exclusively to the families of those who were kidnapped.

Meanwhile ...

Also on Dateline, Ginny Stein heads up river into the heart of Borneo, an area once plundered by illegal loggers. Now the government says this is the clean green future, vast areas cleared for palm oil plantations.

But environmentalists say this new plan is simply plunder by another name.

Check out the preview of Thursday's story from Borneo.
