| Jaffna Hindu College Team won the Cricket Match in Sydney – Ranjithan blasts 78 runs ! |

Jaffna Hindu College Old Boys Association (JHC OBA) Sydney and Hartley College had their annual cricket match on Sunday 24th September at the Ollie Webb Park in Parramatta from 10:30am to 4:00pm. JHC OBA Sydney won the toss and elected to bat first. JHC OBA scored 238 runs in 30 overs. The main scorers were Gowrishankar (47 runs) who was steady and consistent with his batting, Ranjithan (78 runs) who made sure that the fielders were always running and also won the best Batsman award.Gowrishankar (47 runs) who hit consecutive 6's and 4's and also Suba (17 runs) who was a quick scorer towards the end of the match. JHC OBA Sydney won by 132 runs and 7 overs spare. This was a wonderful achievement. The captain of the JHC OBA team was Varathakeyan who led the team to their victory. Hartley College scored 106 runs in 23 overs and JHC OBA's player Ashokkumar won the best bowler award for taking 5 wickets for 26 runs. The referees for the match were Petersingham representing Hartley College OBA and Ambikairajah representing JHC OBA Sydney. The 2nd JHC OBA team (playing with semi-leather ball) also played well, but unfortunately lost by a small margin.Close to 100 people came to this event to support the team and it was a wonderful get-together for the members and their families; it was a fantastic day to remember.
