Sri Lanka: India must initiate diplomatic moves to dispatch UN force to Sri Lanka PDF Print E-mail
Selvi Jayalaitha, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the General Secretary of the ADMK, has appealed that the Central Government of India should make diplomatic moves to dispatch a UN force to Sri Lanka in view of the displacement of the Lankan Tamils internally and externally.
She has pointed out that the peace talks and peace moves that were undertaken with the facilitation of Norway has come to a halt. India which took part directly in the Lankan affairs in the 80’s, now functions merely as an observer.

She further stated that the Tamil Nadu fishermen have been facing harassment and attacks by the Sri Lankan navy.
