TamilSydney.com : How do you feel Aanivaer getting screened at Hyderabad International film festival?John: Though we were very happy the way Aanivaer touched everybody around the globe, i was unhappy that we were not able to release the movie here in india. But Aanivaer getting selected for screening at International Film festival at Hyderabad is a blessing. By this our movie will have a wider reach among Indians. The purpose of making this movie will almost be complete. TamilSydney.com : How did Aanivaer got into the festival? John: Normally its we who should send the movie to such festivals, But in the case of Aanivaer no such thing happened. Under the section of World Cinema, the festival members were widely seeing so many movies from all over the globe. Aanivaer was one such movie. Though they saw a version with no subtitles the emotion and bare truth in the film disturbed them. Though the members were telugu speaking people, they felt the movie should be seen by everybody. I have just sent the synopsis, Pictures, a brief about me and a DVD version of the movie with English subtitles. TamilSydney.com : How do you feel as a Director about Aanivaer's success? John: Honesty and truth always succeeds. The bare honesty in the film disturbed people who saw it. Confrontation of seeing whats really happening inside Srilanka for tamil people touched them. We are happy that we were able to make the audience empathise with the tragic lives of Tamil people in Srilanka through Aanivaer. I am thankful to God for blessing me such a great responsibilty and thankful to Tamileezha makkal for trusting me as a director to speak out their voice. TamilSydney.com : Is it true that your team consisted of just six members during the making the movie? John: Technically speaking yes. My cameraman, his assistant, Nanda, madhumita another girl and myself were all the people who went to make the movie. But we were assisted by a unit who had faced tragic losses in the war. People who have lost their arms, legs, eyes.... people who had bullets inside their body worked along with us. Though they didnt have much experience in film making, the intensity in them was just phenomenal. The very idea that the world will get to see the truths about their lives through AANIVAER pushed them to give the best. And the very reason we were deprived of a basic lights, trolley and crane made us come up with a different style of story telling. We were all doing everything from make up to art department. ![]() People down there gave us so much cooperation, that without their support and interest AANIVAER wouldnt have been made.I sincerely thank my brother Cheralathan, Thava annan, Kuyilini, Yesudasan,Komagan, Nilavan, Vaathi, Gajani, Kayavizhi, Malarvizhi, Lochana,Arumai, Vinothan, Gaayathri, Erambu,Selvam, Agalvizhi, Booma, Sudhan, Nimala, Kalai, Vendhan, Kesavan, Thileeban, Mahindhan, Ruben, Rajan master, Eegaimaaran,Neethan and Elumalai. They are the real AANIVAER behind the movie AANIVAER. ![]() I miss them all. God bless me to see them again. External Link: Aaniveer Movie Review - http://www.tamilbrisbane.com/content/view/240/1/ |
