Sri Lanka, headed by Mahinda Rajapakse is adament is adopting its genocidial policy towards tamils to eradicate them from the Island and not even listening calls from UN, an angry 15 year old particinat said. She further said that, New Zealand should stop all the assistance to Sri Lanka and pressurise it from using cluster shells ( Multi Barrel Artilaries ) and internationally banned Kfir Bomber Aircrafts, which recently killed hundreds of tamils.


Peace loving New Zealander from all walks of life extended their support to this vigil and it attracted huge support from people in the city & around cricket stadium. Vigil organisers issued photographic evidence of Sri Lankan genocide and people showed their shockness by witnessing the other face of Sri Lanka Government, sources said.

An Oxfam Volunteer, participated at the vigil, condemed Sri Lanka for using food as a weapon of war by blocking the main food supply route (A9 and A15 ) to the tamil strongheld in north and east of Sri Lanka.
