nithy1.jpgThe former Eelam Tamil Association President and one of the founder members of the Australian Tamil Congress –Victorian chapter Mr Nithiyakeerthy has passed away. ATC mourns the loss of a great patriot of our mother nation. Mr. Nithiyakeerthy also served the Tamil community in New Zealand as the President of Wellington Tamil Society for four years.

He was well respected by the Tamil community in Australia and New Zealand. He was a great writer, poet and actor. He has staged several plays & dramas in Australia and New Zealand. His novel “Thopullkodi” was planned to be launched on Sunday 18th Oct. but unfortunately he passed away before the launch. He admired the revolutionary leader Ernesto Che Guevara and read his books on freedom struggle & guerrilla warfare. Australian Tamil community pays homage and honours his commitment and selfless contribution to the Tamil people’s struggle.

The Australian Tamil Congress extends our heart felt sympathies towards his wife, son and extended family. As his name suggests he will have eternal fame for his relentless positive contributions to Tamil people and their cause.
