I will be first person to visit independent Tamil Eelam -Tamil Nadu CM PDF Print E-mail

Dr M Karunanidhi, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu speaking at the Eelam Tamils' Protection Convention held on Thursday said that he would be the first person to visit an independent Tamil Eelam. Dr Karunanidhi promised to take up the issue of Eelam Tamils at the highest levels in Indian politics and promised the unwavering support of the 80million Tamils in Tamil Nadu state for their brethren across the sea.

The Chief Minister said he was highly concerned about the welfare of the people living under military occupation. He said he will take up the issue of daily abduction of Tamil youths at the Central Government level.

Delegates at the convention had told our reporter that talks of a power link between Anuradapura and Mudurai are just media hype and such a project would never take place while the government of Sri Lanka continues to kill Tamils.

"The story of the power link is created by certain elements to insure that the Sri Lankan president didn't return from his recent visit to India with an empty brass begging bowl," delegates had told our reporter. "Come the hour when the link is meant to have materialized, everyone would realize Mahinda did leave here with an empty bowl."
