Australian High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka, which has been accused by Australian Tamils for rejecting Visa for ethnic minority Tamils in Sri Lanka, are now monitored by Immigration Minister Hon Chris Evans, sources said. In a recent Student Visa refusal, Sandra Savage, Senior Visa Offier bearing Position No 03J , in Australian High Commission Colombo said, "I have considered the the current economic and political situation in his home country of Sri Lanka and in particual, his place of origin, Jaffna.." . In a letter to, Australasian Federation of Tamil Association, Immigration Minister Chris Evans assured that, "the concerns has been raised with the Australian High Commission in Colombo and will be carefully monitored".
