Pravesh Purusothaman , Ankita Sachdev and Sundaram Aravamudhan won JHC OBA Geethavani 2008 Awards, knows as Australian Tamil Idol Awards, at the competition held at Ryde Civic Centre on 08th June 2008. Jaffna Hindu College Oldboys’ Association Sydney organized the event with a view to encourage the growing number of talented Tamil singers within Australia, said Selvadurai Varathakeyan, President. He further said one the major objective of JHC OBA Sydney is to contribute the funds generated from this type of events towards maintaining basic infrastructure support and services. Last Year JHC OBA Sydney donated three over head projectors and one portable multimedia projector sources said.
Music Director of the program was Maestro Sarangan Sriranganathan. Masters of the ceremonies were Maheswaran Pranaharan and Gnanasegaram Srirangan.
