Australian High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka reject Student Visa based on Tamil Ethnicity PDF Print E-mail

Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka is being accused of rejecting Student Visa for Tamils based on their Ethnicity and Place of Birth, a Rights Activist said. In a recent Student Visa refusal, Sandra Savage, Senior Visa Offier bearing Position No 03J , in Australian High Commission Colombo said, "I have considered the the current economic and political situation in his home country of Sri Lanka and in particual, his place of origin, Jaffna.." . This is a blatent discrimination by Officers at Australian High Commission Colombo Sri Lanka, Activists said.
