The first official biography of Tamil superstar ‘Rajinikanth’, written by Dr. Gayathri Srikanth, was released in Chennai on Thursday at Hotel Taj Connemera.Titled ‘The name is Rajinikanth,’ the book has been published by Om Books International, and is priced at Rs 460.Well-known journalist plus dramatist Cho Ramaswamy released the book and presented the first copy to Rajini’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth. In a short speech, Soundarya said, “It’s a tribute and he's very happy that someone has taken this effort.”
Cho Ramaswamy mentioned Rajinikanth as a sincere person. Besides, he said that the overall credit of his grand success goes to his hard work and spiritual outlook. Dr. Gayathri Srikanth gave thanks to everyone including the super star for assisting her to write this book. The 375 page book with pictures contains interesting information about Rajini from his youth, ups and down of his life, his spiritual bent, his relation with stars including Kamal Haasan. The author has also written about the possibility of Rajini’s political plunge. Around 20,000 copies of the book have hit the stands. The book will shortly be translated in other languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. There will also be a special translation for Rajini’s Japanese fans. Born in 1975, this great Tamil superstar has given innumerable hits, his latest being Sivaji-The Boss in 2007. |
