Diplomatic slap on Mahinda Rajapakse's face Unhappy with the status of the peace process and the human rights situation in the country, the European Union nations sent a strong message to the government on Monday by sending low-level representation to the Development Forum in Galle on Monday. Diplomatic sources said the intention to send low-level representation was made to indicate to the government the EU was not happy with the direction the government was heading with regard to the peace process and on the human rights front. |

 Australian Parliamentarians Don Randal and Senator Steve Hutchins are due to to visit Sri Lanka on a fact finding mission, funded by Australia - Sri Lanka Friendship Group, sources said. Unconfirmed reports says that, these two parliamentarians request to visit war torn towns in North East of Sri Lanka, including Trincomalee ( where 17 French air workers have been massacred by Sri Lankan Army ) , Vaharai ( where several thousand tamils are displaced ) and Jaffna has been turn down by High Commissioner K.Balapatabandi, as it will expose the current reality in Sri Lanka. |

Gananathan, 64, was shot dead near Mampalam junction Sri Lanka Army camp in Ariyalai, a suburb of Jaffna, around 6:30 a.m., Thursday.
