Being a bit shy in not responding to US tax payers repeated concerns regarding human rights violations in Sri Lanka, the United States Ambassador for Sri Lanka, Mr. Blake, took the Tamil daily newspaper “Thinakkural” on his standard lip service trip. In his rare and exclusive interview with the Tamil daily newspaper, Mr. Blake once again mislead and misrepresented some of the core issues concerning the troubled island’s human rights violations and made contradictions regarding the American people value of human rights.

Rajinikanth, after shooting for Sivaji in the US, is back in India.Though there is no official word on Sivaji, the general belief is that the shoot for Sivaji seems to be over.The small portions shot in the US seem to be the last few portions. But you never know with Shankar. A stickler for form and content, he will re-shoot if he finds any scene not to his liking.

One of TamilSydney.com reader, who happened to be the classmate of KT Rajasingham confirms as follow, "...In the 1980s he functioned as an organiser of the SLFP in Point Pedro; he threatened teachers and was a "catcher " for the SLFP.iI suppose he must have made money doing political-related favours for innocent people, who did not know that they were dealing with a bribe -master...."

Tamil newspapers correspondent goes missing in the North, Sri Lanka - Reporters Without Borders

ramachchandiran_16_02_07_04_60175_140.jpgReporters Without Borders voiced deep concern today about the disappearance last night of Subramaniam Ramachandran, the correspondent of the Tamil dailies Thinakural and Valampuri in the Vadamaradchi region north of Jaffna. The organisation said it was worried about the cruel lack of protection for media personnel in this region.

Australia supports victims of crime in Sri Lanka, North East Tamils Ignored - Dr Greg French
frenchgreg_sml.jpgIn a Media Release issued on 14th Feb 2007, Australian High Commission, Colombo says it will spend 6 million rupees as part of  its Grants Scheme in Norwood, Pottuvil, Puttlam and Colombo - All in south and ignore war torn North East.
Full Text of the Media Release;
The Australian High Commissioner, Dr Greg French, presented six million rupees to The Asia Foundation as part of the Australian Government’s Human Rights Small Grants Scheme to support the development of a “Psychosocial Resource Network for Victims of Crime”. A further four million rupees was given to four small non-government organisations as part of the High Commission’s Direct Aid Program.

Tamil: Humanitarian Situation in Sri Lanka - Dr Greg French & other Diplomat’s Field Mission Report
frenchgreg_sml.jpgAustralian High Commissioner for Sri Lanka Dr.Greg French and some of his diplomatic officers visited war-torn North-East of Sri Lanka as part of Bilateral Donor Group field mission and highlighted the pathetic plight of tamils in Sri Lanka.
"In the Eastern districts it was reported that the military actions of the Karuna faction have become a major destabilising factor. The missions were informed of a steady increase this year of extra-judicial killings, abductions and disappearances. "
"..The situation in the Jaffna peninsula is of particular concern, where also the government controlled areas have been cut off since the suspension of commercial flights and the closure of the A9 in mid-August. "

Sri Lanka President Mahinda transfer Tamil Judges who expose State sponsored Human Right violations

Tamil judges who are exposing Sri Lankan state sponsored human rights violations in North-East of Sri Lanka are being transferred out of war zones by the instruction of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse, sources said. Jaffna Magistrate Srinithi Nanthasekaran and Muttur Judge Manikkam Kanesaraja are the victims of these genocidely motivated transferes.
